Diversity Code of Practice This organisation recognises that every person is unique. The differences between people can enrich us. They add value to our work. We hold that all human beings are of equal worth, that worth is a function of being human, not of what people do, nor how they behave, nor any particular attribute or quality. We strive to esteem everyone with whom we come into contact. We seek to manifest our respect and valuing of others by always seeking to relate in an open, honest, assertive way. We strive to develop learning environments that are accessible and inclusive for all. We celebrate human diversity. By having a diverse range of people with different backgrounds and histories participate in our courses we can co-create more stimulating learning environments to the benefit of everyone involved. Whilst an awareness of the differences between human beings enriches our work and our lives, it is also a source of challenge. This challenge can make us uncomfortable. Everyone involved in AM Training undertakes to meet the challenges that human diversity brings with integrity, in an openhearted way. We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity. We acknowledge that some people in our society are less valued, have less access to resources and are afforded fewer opportunities than others. These injustices operate through language, stereotypes, individual behaviour, organisational policies and legislation. We seek not to duplicate these injustices in our work. We undertake to challenge oppressive behaviour. Our trainers will challenge any course participant who behaves in a deliberately offensive way with deliberate intent to offend other participants who are perceived as different. We are committed to challenging all forms of oppressive behaviour. Our courses are designed within the context of equal opportunities; for example we use literature, exercises and case studies that challenge stereotypes. AM Training
