"I
just wanted to say how valuable the training was. It was really good to
know that we were all in the same boat and to share the difficulties we
had together. Listening to how others would deal with a real life situation
of ours helped me to see things from another angle.
I hadn't expected it to be a course where we looked at how we react to
things and how that can be the best place to start when looking at an
issue with volunteers, it has really opened my eyes. It was fantastic
to hear that it was ok to say no; working in the voluntary sector I think
it is something we find hard to do and we tend to want people to like
us so try to be nice. Sharing this with others was great and it was 2
days well spent.
The overall gain for me was that it was really good to have a professional
environment where you could discuss what is happening in your workplace,
get practical feedback without having to be accountable for how you felt
and wanted to deal with certain situations. It was a safe environment
to try out the techniques we talked about over the 2 days.
Thank
you and I hope to get the opportunity to be on a further training course
at some point (when the budget allows!)"

"The
course was of huge benefit to me! I was able to implement things I had
learnt as soon as I returned to work and felt so much more confident and
assertive in the issues I currently have to deal with.... For me, it went
at the right pace, covered topics I needed to learn about concisely and
crossed referenced to my role well. All with a very patient, clear and
knowledgeable trainer! Many thanks"
